Is making sure the hands fire from in front of the "vertical toe line" important to you or no really as long as you barrel the ball good??

Soon you'll be doing a video on someone stealing off Fransisco Alverez while throwing back to the pitcher as he has a terrible habit of lobbing the ball back to the pitcher whether there are runners on base or not even with runners on 3rd I've seen him do it. I can't believe MLB coaches don't pick this up and address it.

I believe that the return to the base after a fly ball is caught is not a "force play." Consequently, if the run scores before an appeal is deemed successful, I believe that the run will count.

I coached little league for years and I always told my players that the inning is not over until the ump calls or signals out. Didn't matter if you are a baserunner or a fielder, you play until the umps says the inning is over.

Runner should be out for touching the grass. Stay in the base line.

I wish I'd had your help with these videos when I coached my son's recreation league team 30 years ago. I loved baseball but had never played an organized game with 9 guys on each side and had never been coached. I organized practices well and got other more knowledgeable fathers to participate. But, I would have loved to have had this help from you back then.

Had a similar situation when I played softball. I hit the ball pretty much right at the shortstop. He wasn't able to field it cleanly and I made it to first easily. He stared frustratingly into the outfield with the ball at his feet, so I took the opportunity to run to second. Since the ball was at his feet he had to scramble to make a hurried throw and didn't even get it near the second baseman at the bag so it went out into shallow right field where no one was. So I was able to advance to third. Unfortunately we had 2 outs at the time and the next batter was the third out.

this one is really simple with todays rules. The catcher is blocking the plate. He has his foot on the plate long before he gets the ball. The call, like it or not is safe according to todays rules. Where the runner was running, the throw, all that just does not matter. He is safe. Here is the latest MLB memo on it. "foot on the foul line or home plate," "straddling the foul line" and "in foul territory or straddling home plate."" That is not considered obstruction unless the catcher has the ball. He clearly does not nor is he pulled into the path on the throw. Safe by obstruction

3rd baseman also isn’t doing anything to make the runner have to pretend to be honest

I’m here after Justin Turner was ruled safe after his helmet fell off and was tagged by the fielder. I feel like as soon as the fielder tagged the helmet AND the helmet was touching Turner, it should’ve been ruled an out the same way this was.

I think it likely that the Rockies looked at video and saw Grandal was doing this. That's why the runner shifts well before the ball is released.

As a 1st base coach, I always asked the runner to “tell me” how many outs there were.

But why pull back with the bat up like that and not just pull back with it more level?

I used to agree with this but lately I’ve been keeping my knuckles together and bringing my forearms together with my elbow at my side and I’ve been crushing the ball. Why keep your back elbow up when you’re going to have to tuck it in later in the swing? Just put it where it has to go

The essence of a great coach is being able to recognize feel versus real. A coach that has the right words to get a player into a productive position, regardless of what those words actually mean, is a great coach. I knew logically that some thought patterns I used to key in on, were not what was actually occurring, but thinking in that way made me play better.
